Morning Sickness. What a deceptive title. For some this "sickness" lasts all day and for some, the duration of their pregnancy. Have you ever tried ginger lolli pops? You can either pick up commercially premade ones such as Preggie Pops, or make some yourself. Remember though, only use pasteurized honey during pregnancy.
Ginger Honey Lollipops
- ½ cup to 1 cup honey
- 2 Tablespoons grated ginger
- Lollipop sticks/Popsicle sticks
- Parchment/Wax Paper
Cook
Pour honey and shaved ginger into small saucepan and cook over low heat. Stir
constantly and bring to a boil.
Continue cooking and occasionally test. It is better to test too early than too late.
Test
Place a drop or two of honey into a cup of ice water. If the honey turns and
stays hard (like a hard candy) then it is ready. If it is still soft then
you need to keep cooking a bit longer.
Making the Lollipops
Lay lollipop sticks on a greased non-stick
surface such as a silicone mat or parchment/wax paper. Carefully pour honey over
each stick, creating a free form lollipop.
No Sticks? Make Candies!
Create free form candies just like the free form lollipops. Same
instructions apply; pour honey into mold or onto a greased non-stick surface and
let cool.
Add Other Flavours:
Cinnamon ginger lollies is a good combination. Lemon is nice too.
