Today is Good Friday. For many people it is just another day off, for us it represents our faith and our family.
This special sunny day we will go downtown this afternoon, drive along the ocean, visit the place where my husband asked me to be his wife, and then visit a cathedral. At the cathedral we will attend Mass, and light a candle for each of our family members who have passed away.
This act helps us to honour those who preceded us and those that we lost far too soon. Our faith in God is strengthened each and every day.
What is good about Good Friday? It is the day we recognize that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for us.
I give thanks so deeply for my life and for my family, my family who have passed and my family that are with me now. We are always together, because our faith in God connects us no matter what form we take. As my Grandma J. used to say:
"We are not humans having a spiritual experience, we are spirits having a human experience!"
- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin As you embark on this long weekend, with the sun shining high in the sky, the bird-song so prevalent, and the light cooling breeze softly about, review and renew your faith, whatever that may be.
