#48 Butter is Better

 

Butter is Better. Do you remember those butter ads that stated that "Butter is better, naturally." Well, this statement is true. It is not simply the result of spin doctoring a product.

While you are spreading margarine on your healthy whole wheat or multi-grain bread, consider the following.

Butter:

  • Increases the absorption of other nutrients.
  • Enhances the flavours in food and is tastier than margarine.
  • Is the highest source of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (inhibits cancer of the skin, colon, and breast).
  • Is chalk full of vitamins A, D, and E.
Margarine:

  • Lowers the quality of breast milk.
  • Decreases insulin response.
  • Triples the risk of coronary heart disease.
  • Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53%. 
Conduct your own experiment. Take some butter and some margarine (uncovered) and leave them both outside in a shaded area.

Check back in a couple of days and you will notice that the margarine will be void of all flies; none will go near it. It will smell no different, and nothing will grow on it. All of this should tell you something. And that something is not good.

Be healthy and choose butter, after all, butter is better - naturally!
