Have you ever been in the position of "Aghhhhh their birthday is tomorrow and I have to go out NOW and find something!" And that something is preferably meaningful, or at least you hope. If you ever have been in this situation then you know how stressful it can be - VERY!
I am learning, very slowly, but I am learning. Now I am going to continue try to make a point of buying items that I know my potential gift receivers will like, ahead of time, well ahead. When I succeed in doing so, most often I have stumbled upon these gifts-to-to-be, other times they've come to my attention while wading through the whack of advertisements packed into the community paper. What I do know is that when I do manage to buy things ahead of time, even a year ahead of time, I know that it is a gift that will be truly appreciated and how refreshing it is to erase that last minute rush stress. Our days are busy enough without frantically running about desperately trying to find that perfect gift in time, with kids in tow, simultaneously melting down because it is just "that time of day".
So, do yourself a favour and create a gift box, chest, or closet - a place to put those gifts-to-be. Include a variety of wrapping paper, gift bags, and bows. If you love greeting cards as much as I do, it won't be difficult to build up a collection for you to have on hand also. VOILA! Your Gift Box is done.
